11-Channel AV Amplifier With Dirac Live, 4K/120Hz And ES9026 Pro DAC Converter
It was next. After the presentation of the Integra DRX-8.4, Pioneer and Onkyo take turns to announce respective 11-channel AV amplifiers, since all these companies now belong to the Premium Audio Company.
So Pioneer is the first to talk about the VSX-LX805, which has almost the same capabilities as the Integra DRX-8.4. The Pioneer VSX-LX805 amplifier has currently only been announced in North America, but it will also appear in Europe this summer.
In other words, we have 11 channels of Class AB amplification with a power of 220W/6Ω with one channel driven (1% THD), DAC converter ES9026 Pro by ESS, six HDMI inputs and three outputs at 8K/60Hz or 4K/120Hz level, three-band support and with Dirac Live Premium space correction system with Bass Control extension for one or more subwoofers.
The VSX-LX805 decodes Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Auro-3D and IMAX Enhanced, its network platform supports Chromecast, AirPlay 2, DTS Play-Fi, having compatibility with Sonos, but also Bluetooth in/out (SBC, AAC/ SBC, aptX, aptX HD) as well as Roon Ready.
As a Pioneer, it has the MCACC Pro correction system (if we don't want Dirac Live), as well as a headphone jack and the well-known traditional Pioneer display screen on the front.
Also, along with the 6 HDMIs, it also provides analog CVS and component video inputs. It also has an HDMI on the front that accepts 4K/60Hz.
In addition, it has an XLR input, an XLR pre-out output for a final amplifier and four RCA audio inputs. There is also a phono stage. Of course, it also has digital inputs and infrastructure for installers.
The remote is similar to what Pioneer has been used to for the last 15+ years. As the amplifier came to remind us that once there were Audio Scaler, Phase Control, Theater Filter, Reflex Optimizer etc. systems. which had been developed by Pioneer at the time which the new owner certainly did not dare to touch. But the amplifier has them, as did the very old Made In Japan Pioneer models.
The new VSX-LX805 can support an Atmos system of up to 5.1.2 but also 7.1.2 channels. The dimensions of the VSX-LX805 are 435 mm × 185.5 mm × 468 mm and its weight is 21.5 kg.
